The Pebble Tec® natural-textured finish provides a durable, secure surface that will add a new level of elegance to your pool.
PebbleTec® offers high-quality, durable, and aesthetically pleasing finishes for swimming pools, spas, and water features. The unique PebbleTec® finishes are made of natural, polished pebbles that are specially selected from various regions around the world. These pebbles are then mixed with advanced cement and pigments to create a durable and non-slip surface that is resistant to fading, staining, and etching.
PebbleTec® finishes also provide a variety of color options, from subtle and earthy tones to vibrant and bold hues, allowing pool owners to create their desired look and feel for their outdoor space. With over 30 years of experience in the industry, PebbleTec® has earned a reputation for excellence and innovation, making them a top choice for pool resurfacing projects.
This depends on durability, cost, your backyard area's natural surroundings, and how much pool maintenance you are willing to do.
The most commonly used pool surfacing style is the standard pool plaster, which is often found in older pools. This traditional interior finish has been around since the 1960s and has undergone various improvements. Although standard plaster is less expensive than Pebble Tec®, it has some drawbacks. Its porous nature makes it vulnerable to discoloration, staining, and bacterial growth, requiring more chemicals to maintain proper water chemistry. However, with proper maintenance, these concerns may take years to arise. It is recommended that a plaster pool be re-plastered every five years.
In recent decades, Pebble Tec® has emerged as a popular trend in pool resurfacing for good reason. Although more expensive than plaster, it is considered the highest quality material available due to its durability and ability to mask chemical residue. Pebble Tec® is available in various aggregate types and colors, ranging from tan to blue/green hues. The surface is composed of specially formulated cement blended with pebble aggregates, giving it a rougher texture compared to plaster, resembling the bottom of a creek or riverbed. For those concerned with texture, Pebble Sheen® is a similar option with smaller aggregates. With proper maintenance, a Pebble Tec® surface can last 20 or more years.
